Yarn

This is some of the wool yarn I hand painted. This color way was inspired by the pleasant memories of summer days. It is the native greenery surrounding my cabin and the color of the wild salal berry juice that I love so much. I wove a gift for somebody who appreciates these colours. If you like you can guess what I wove and the next time I post I will show you.

  1. Those colors certainly do evoke the forest! I wonder if you wove a scarf? (wild guess of course!)

Happy New Year! God bless you and your daughter in 2018.

  3. Maybe a scarf...or socks! Something warm and cozy with those warm and cozy colors. They are just beautiful, Ronda. I wonder, how did you paint the wool? So curious...and Happy New Year, my friend. Hope you're staying warm!

    1. Hi Kim It is something cozy but not a scarf. I don't weave socks on my type of loom. As for the color's they are painted on with a brush from dye's I have made based on mathematical calculations. There are no surprise's - unless I have done an equation wrong which does happen. Ronda

  4. I am going to guess either a scarf or perhaps a bookmark? The yarn color looks so amazing! I love the color the salal berry produces! Happy New Year to you dear friend!

  5. Hi Marilyn It is not a scarf or a bookmark - although I do like your guess's. The burgundy color reminds me of these berries but it is not from them. I did try that before though and I got various shades of brown! Ronda

  6. I saw a few beautifully woven shawls at a market in Carp On. Perhaps your thinking of going in that direction. These are beautiful colours by the way and I'm looking forward to seeing the finished cozy item in another post soon. ☺
