"Don't wish me happiness I don't expect to be happy all the time....It's gotten beyond that somehow. Wish me courage and strength and a sense of humor. I will need them all." Anne Morrow Lindbergh

Weaving pink

God sent me a very special angel - a dog I named Angel. I wove this blanket from wool I dyed with lichens that I scraped off rocks. I combined the various shades of pinks and purples with natural wool. The blanket measures 52 inches wide and 70 inches long.

    1. Hi Diana I praise God for the wonderful blessing of Angel. She has brought much healing to my heart. I am in awe how loving God is and cares enough about me not only to make dogs but to send the perfect one for me into my life. It takes very little faith to believe in God - it takes more faith to believe in the randomness of evolution and that dogs came into existence happen chance. I put the blanket on my daughter’s bed. She needed a new one and this wool one is so warm. I enjoyed your visit. Ronda

  2. What a sweet, sweet baby!! And I love her name, your daughter must be overjoyed with this new addition, too. And of course, she's swaddled in a Ronda original!! Do I see a line of custom-made doggie sweaters in your future?

    1. Hi Kim The sweet thing about this blessing is it was unanticipated - I bought her for my daughter. No - to dog sweaters but it is an interesting idea. Thanks for coming by. I always look forwards to it. Ronda

  3. Beautiful weaving, and what a sweet puppy! Dogs are wonderful companions, so full of love. I noticed your Lindbergh quote atop your blog post. I found a book by her at the thrift store nearby for free! It's her diary entries and some letters she wrote from 1936-1939, in Europe. Very interesting. She's a lovely writer.

    1. Actually Angel is an adult dog. Her puppy picture is somewhere on this blog. I like Lindbergh’s writing too and I think the book you bought at the thrift store sounds wonderful.

  4. What a darling little girl Angel is, and how thankful I am that you have a new little sweet friend! She looked darling all cuddled up in that amazing blanket you made, and I am intrigued by the color of the lichen turning to pink, amazing! You are such a creative soul Ronda... we are looking forward to spring here, has it come there yet? Blessings and hugs :)
