No more cooking in the barn. I have a thankful heart. I have a new Premier propane gas range in my kitchen and I am using it. This is the 20inch model and it has battery ignition-I use rechargeable batteries. I had a difficult time and it took awhile for me to hook it up but throughout the process I felt again the caring, nurturing, mothering qualities of our God. In scripture Jesus say's, «I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gather's her chicks under her wings. » Luke 13:34. Is God like a mother? As a mother alone with a young child I see the pure form of His nurturing love. He has the qualities of a mother that I aspire to be.

Your new range is a wonderful addition to your new home. Your muffins look delicious.
ReplyDeleteHi Marie This is a very simple carrot muffin recipe I just made up with ingredients at hand. I mix up the wet ingredients which is 1 3/4 cups carrots, 1 egg, 1/4 cup oil, 3/4 cup water, 1/2 cup applesauce, and 2 Tbps. lemon juice. I mix up the dry ingredients in another bowl 2 cups flour, 1/2 cup sugar, 1/4 tsp. salt, 3/4 tsp. cinnamon, and 1 1/4 tsp. baking soda. I combine the wet and dry ingredients together and bake in greased muffin tins 20 mins in a 375 oven.

ReplyDeleteHappy Mother's Day, Rhonda! God has been the loving nurturer I have needed at times when I wanted to sing, "Sometimes I feel like a motherless child." That is a wonderful verse you quoted.

Hi Rhonda,
ReplyDeleteGod certainly has the qualities of a mother. His name El Shaddai means the breasted one (from the root 'shad') so He truly demonstrates and personifies the mother heart. We can call on the Mother Heart of God. Much love, you courageous, incredible woman
