I needed a rug for my sitting room and I wanted one that would last a very long time. I put on a warp and using recycled cotton I wove a rug. When I was finished it measured 48" x 72". This size I should still be able to wrestle into my laundry sink and scrub it on my washboard before hanging it up on some metal fencing - just like I do with my other smaller rugs every spring.

I like this rug, Ronda. 48" x 72" is pretty big. I'm sure it's a great addition to your sitting room, and can imagine your daughter playing there with her toys. Have a joy-filled day. Nancy
ReplyDeleteLovely and it looks super cozy, too! Like Nancy, right away I pictured your daughter playing on it. What could be better than that?
ReplyDeleteI love it, Ronda!! Is that denim material? I have had several of those over the years and honestly some of them are almost 30 years old and still look like new. Love yours- xo Diana
ReplyDeleteThanks Diana! Yes it is cotton denim. I know that my smaller cotton denim rugs that I have been using for some time are very hard wearing and I love them too! The rug is in front of a window and in the spring when the sun shines it is a most agreeable place to rest. Ronda
DeleteYou do such amazing work Ronda! I can't imagine trying to hand wash a rug that size! What a blessing you have such amazing skills to use to make lovely purposeful things in your home. :)
ReplyDeleteI may change my mind too and just hang it on the fence than wash it with a garden hose and scrub brush!
DeleteVery pretty. The color is great and rugs are very useful! You got a talent to make beautiful things.
